This topic dealt with poverty, and within that, we touched upon the customs of lending and borrowing money in Japan and the Philippines, expanding the discussion and using it as a conversation practice exercise.

The last sentence of the passage in T/C's lesson was a famous line, so I asked her, "Do you know who said this?" I later realized my answer was wrong, and that her more modest answer was actually correct, which made me feel embarrassed. But it was a fun lesson, with us exchanging ideas in a game-like manner.

I took a lesson on the new topic of "Innovation." My answers to each question tend to be too long, and I occasionally check if she can understand my pronunciation, but I'm often impressed by how well she understands. I also really appreciate that she always asks me for clarification when something is unclear, as it shows she's listening carefully.

In this T/C lesson, we again discussed topics related to "superstition," and exchanged opinions on how the meaning of superstitions differs between Japan and other countries due to cultural differences. I believe this has been helpful in acquiring new knowledge and improving my everyday English conversation skills.

優しくて、質問にわかりやすく答えてくれたけれど、レッスンのスピードが速すぎた。
